Everything you want to know about the alarm you silence by walking.

How does Wokko work?

Set an alarm like normal. When it fires, your phone counts your steps using the built-in accelerometer. Walk the required number of steps — the default is 30 — and the alarm stops. No snooze button. No "one more minute." Just physics.

Does it track my location or sell my data?

No. Step counting uses the accelerometer — no GPS, no location. Your step data never leaves your phone. We collect anonymous usage analytics (PostHog) and optional crash reports (Sentry), but no names, no location, no step counts. See the full picture in our Privacy Policy.

Is it free?

Wokko is a paid app — new users get a free trial to try it out, and a subscription is required to keep using it after that. The app isn't out yet; join the waitlist and you'll be first to know.

iOS and Android?

Both. We're building for iOS and Android simultaneously. Launch timing may differ by a few weeks, but both are coming.

Why walking instead of math problems or QR codes?

Math problems can be solved on autopilot — your half-awake brain has done arithmetic since age 7. QR codes require finding a specific object, which you can leave by the bed. Walking is different: it activates your vestibular system, raises your heart rate, and breaks sleep inertia at the biology level before your brain can negotiate. You can't think your way out of walking.
